Default Hard Working Cam

Hey guys just wanted some input from you all. I am planning on running my stock heads with 1 3/4" headers, and I am looking for advice for the most powerfull cam I can run, however I would still like to be able to drive the car without having a ridiculous stall on it. I am planning on swapping vavle springs, retainers, pushrods, and rockers as well, but not port/polish. Any advice would be helpfull. Thanks

trex is the best cam available on stock heads, but do you have a good tuner nearby? the trex is an extremely radical cam. a car with a 1500 stall will drive the same as a 4000 stall. as long as its a lock up converter it will only take it up to 4000 when ur brake torquing.

yep. no prob its what i do. i would recommend the patriot valvetrain aswell, especially the patriot gold springs

what's a rediculous stall? If you are a planning just a 3000 stall, a smaller duration, tigher LSA cam would be better.

I'm by no means an expert on cams, but I would suggest reading the sticky at the top of this section. It doesn't seem like you posted nearly enough info about your plans or goals to just decide on the trex.

if you won't go any higher than 3k on a stall, i would suggest the g5x3 on a 114 lsa.

ya if u want go higher that 3000 than trex probly isnt for u. the recommend a 4000+ stall. he said he wanted the most powerful cam so i told him. lol.
