Both are good cams. But what type of driving do you do? I have the tr224/224 114 cam and have compared it to the f13 cam alot. The tr 224 makes alittle more torque then the f13 at a lower rpms and gives up alittle up top to the f13 about 10 to 15 hp peak. Here is a pic. of my dyno with the tr224 cam on stock ported 806 heads.

F13 sounds like it might be your best/better bet.

honestly once you get the tune dialed in and run enough timing down low, the f13 dosnt noticeably lose any torque down low, especially if you add gears to the mix. Up top and it just screams. Many 400+ RWHP cam only cars running the f13.

I say go F14, driveability won't really be any different but the lope will definitely be more pronounced on the F14, to be so similar the F14 sounds like a beast compared to an F13......as for low end torque at 3000 rpm i'm already at 350 and it is a nice flat curve up to my peak of 385 at about 5000 before the torque started falling off and the horsepower is a straight climb all the way to 6500 FWIW.

what he said. But if you dont decide to go with the FM14, then FM13. Lightyears ahead of the TR224.

If you can handle it the F14 is a great cam as well. I chose it for my Z06 that I drive daily. It is funny to watch people stare when they hear the lope.

It's kind of an apples and oranges comparison. The F13 is a larger cam and as such should make more top end power. A more fair comparison would be either our TR224 to other 224 sized cams out there or in comparing the F13 to one of our 230 duration cams for the LS1, such as either the TRak cam or the TR230.

To say that either the F13 or TR224 is 'better' is really stretching things. Those cams are VERY different and meant for different applications.

F13 is a great cam, I have it in my 347 and its only running on a base tune, and I barely have any issues with driving it. Pulls hard all the way - I didn't notice any loss of low end torque either.

If you're looking at the F13, go with the F14 plus 4.10's or 3.73's. You won't have any low-end torque issues, and it'll lope like a Big Dog...

I am looking into both of these cams as well, but most people on here say FM13. I read on another post the TR224 beat the FM13 up to 5600 and was only down 10rwhp peak... Since it has more power for most of the rpm band is the FM13 that much better? For street use with m6 on 4.10s? Just curious, Thanks

I had a TR 224 in my car when I was going FI. Nice cam, great torq and pull from idle but it does get thin a bit above 6500. IMO a F13 or F14 would make more peak, and pull harder on top.

Just curious...that dynograph you have in there, is the one run with cam only and the second run with ported heads? Or what was the difference between the two of them?
