How many miles are on the car?

...Unfortunately, thicker oil is not going to fix anything.

Thicker oil will usually raise oil pressure in most cases but its a band aid for some other problem.

is it possible guys that there just may be a "short" or something of the sort in his oil pressure guage?

Chance of your transducer ( the electrical pressure gauge that moves your panel gauge) is unlikely. A Diagnostic tuner could tell you. Are there any puddles when you stop...Are you burning it? What's the exhaust color?

Not sure. I would say a compression test, to check your rings. Get your oil lines blown out. Low pressure air. After that if it's still low...Probably have a clog in your block. The oil goes thru the block to lubricate the pistons...If none of that....Ummm..My boy says drive it down here and he'll run it over for ya. Cuz we're all out of ideas

i run Val 10-40 in my 130k motor that is cammed and i abuse it alot. when the oil gets hot the viscosity is lower hence lower oil pressure

Three things come together to make your oil pressure lower when you've been running it hard. The oil becomes thnner when it's hot, your clearances become larger because the block is hot, and the idle rpm is lower when the engine is fully warm causing the oil pump to not spin as fast. Mine does the same thing after getting a new shortblock, it will be 40 psi at idle when it's warmed up, but only after driving for half an hour or so it is down to 25 psi. As for the oil pressure twitching, if you watch closely you'll find that it twitches as the idle rpm twitches.

only the oil pressure gauge twitches .....the rpm gauge remains at 1100 doesnt move at all... but what u said makes perfect sense though...
