I know, I was disappointed. If I'm ever down there again, I'll try a stock cam. I didn't have one at the time of the swap, just my replacement grind.

Any solution to the whine? I have the same noise with my recently installed 224/230 xer comp cam. Dead quiet at idle, then 1500-2000 whine. Hasn't got any a louder just scary sounding.

No solution yet. I still think it's the cam. I bet all the cores are made by the same company. Maybe there is a bad batch out there, who knows. Or we all just happened to ruin our cam bearings at the same time.

Hopefully more post up their story so we can figure out a solution here.

Cam looked fine upon installation. Also has a melling high pressure pump, ls2 chain, pac 1218 springs with 3k from the previous cam. Only change was comp 7.425 pushrods and then comp cam.

all of us that have this whining issue need to send these threads to comp cams and see what they say, bc it is definitely not a isolated incident.

I agree.

I'm already out over $800 for 2 cams. If turns out to be the cam, that's money down the *******, because I can't sell them then.

I should have waited until I had a stock cam to test with before buying another. Oh well.

Gonna just run it for now and when it's warm out, maybe try figuring out again, but with a stock cam.

I doubt they will believe its a cam issue. Swapping cams on a c5 sucks.

It's impossible for us to prove it, I saw nothing on the cam itself.

I'm not doing this swap again until it's warm out (2-3 months), but I promise to update with my findings.

The problem is unless they can physically determine what is wrong, it's hard to warranty it. I already heard from Lunati that a video isn't enough evidence, they/we have to be able to physically determine what is causing the noise.

I'm all ears lol. Hopefully more people chime in who have the same noise.

I assume that comp will not warranty anything if the cam looks fine. With my luck I'll pull the cam and it will still look brand new. The last oil change after the cam swap didn't have any metal in it.

going by ya'lls videos mine is much louder than yours if I rev it at idle.

Only thing that confuses me is that the PO said he had no whine issues when he ran it. so Im thinking lifters
