WellI just called ETP and they confirmed that I did indeed have the right pushrods installed so I guess I have to look at it with my HPtuners and see if I get any codes and then tear it apart to redo the cam.

Check your fuses. Make sure the sensor's are all plugged in. The main engine fuse and/or the maf being unplugged will cause this stuff as well.

You dont adjust valves on this engine. This is the simplest engine to do this swap on.

Listen dude, its not the ******* cam. If you lined up the dots right there is no way its the cam. Tear it apart if you want and then have the same trouble when you get it back together. If you installed the cam wrong you would have know when you turned the motor over by hand. I'll go write down the sequence of numbers off my coil packs.
Did you install and adjustable timing set? My thought is that not knowing that much about what you are doing you didnt try to use an adjuistable timing set. If you did then you could have it degreed wrong, but I doubt very much its 180 off. The cam sprocket is still keyed to the cam. Still impossible to screw it up. Check all your connections

I am not going to tear it apart until its my very last resort, no worries. I am positive its not the cam and like I said I used a brand new LS2 timing chain with no adjustments made.

Have to walk my dog right now, when I get back I'll write the coil pack numbers down. Its either fuel or electrical. Has to be.

What size pushrods do you need for the new 11 degree ETP heads? I've seen just about everyone say that you will need close to 8" pushrods because of the taller deck on those puppies. He has 7.4 pushrods installed.
It for SURE isn't the cam, non-adjustable timing chain...all he did was replace the chain with an LS2 chain. No way its out of wack because he said he did dot to dot perfect. He already checked his coil packs, and they sound like they're on right to me, but we'll get varification from 99blancoSS. I doubt its fuel, haven't ever seen fuel go bad in less then a month.
Only thing I can think of, is that his pushrods are just too short.

check out post #9 here https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/450253-etp-215s-results-who-wants-them.html

HIS PUSHRODS ARE WAY TOO SHORT!!!

Best Regards,
Adrian

Adrian I called ETP today before I ran out to get a pushrod measuring tool and they told me 7.4" is what they are supposed to be. I just pulled some of the plugs and they are soaked in fuel so I have to pull them then turn it over to get rid of the fuel then test the plugs and reinstall and try to start it.

If the coils were on wrong and you said you swapped one side. so you are sure they are on right, then you probably now have fouled out your plugs. throw a new set in there and she should fire right up.
But i still say it is/was the coil packs.

Did you confirm you are getting spark? Isn't there number of grounds that go on the back of the driver head? Did you get those on?

ok,

your getting fuel to the cylinders and its not burning. Also, you are sure that the cam is dot to dot and that the motor turns, with the usual resistance, but no locks in it.

When i dropped in my 408, i had an issue where the pass. bank wasnt firing. I had a HUGE arguement and finally took the car home and started to work on it. THe installer was driving me nuts about its the tune crap... he was justlazy.

A it turns out, the coild pack werent installed incorrectly, BUT, the connection, the main harness, wasn't pluged in correctly. I guess oms of the pins weren't making contact....whatever it was, as soon as i went over that...blamo!! the pass bank was burning!!

Now, you could have a coild pack swapped out and that is causing you some issue.

So, you do have fuel, but its not burning cause your aren't getting spark. check all of the plugs to see which ones ARE burning, if any, and take it from there.

MY bet is electrical.

good luck brotha, i know how it is and we have all gone through this kind of crap. Sometimes the fix is SO simple that you'll wanta smack yourself a few times for being so dumb!!

OK well here is the verdict we got spark from some of the plugs and not others so its come time to just say screw it and I'm tearing it apart to redo the cam. It won't be done tonite since I need parts that are not here but tomorrow it should be put back together and I'll let you know how it goes.

If you're not getting spark on all of the plugs, what makes you think that has anything to do with the cam? It sounds to me that the problem is electrical. I know someone else mentioned it already, but did you double and triple check all the grounds?

Just out of curiousity, are the heads milled? What size valves? What are the cam specs?

You said some of your plugs aren't firing, so it's either the plugs, wires, coils, or the coils aren't being powered, grounded, and triggered. I'd go back over all of the electrical (including power and grounds) until you get spark on all 8 plugs before I'd rip any of the mechanicals apart.

I think I've got a set of '99 coils still mounted on brackets @12-mile and I-75. Let me know if they will help. I'll be around tonight after I stop and a few pops! I'll PM you my cell#.

The grounds on the back of the driver side head are all connected I checked several times as I did when I removed and replaced all the plugs and wires. The heads have not been milled and as I said I called ETP this morning to confirm my setup again. The cam is a LPE GT2-3 its very small and my friend just installed his two weeks ago. I reconnected everything and tried again and no luck so I'm gonna see if the cam is 180 off or not. After that if it doesnt start then I have no idea. I just don't know what else electrical it could be.
