I almost bought these heads + 224 cam. When i called up TEA and told them what i was shooting for (400rwhp and be a daily driver) they told me the 5.3 stage 1.5 heads where a better choice because the 5.3 heads make better tq under the curve do to the better port design. The choice is up to you in the end but I am very happy and glad I went with these heads. If you want the flow data just let me know and i will post it for you.

Yes, please post up some flow numbers. Are they anything close to the advertised ones? Whats the compression your running with those heads?

Thanks

I had the stage 1.5 5.3L heads and gained 31hp/41lbtq from them untuned using a Futral FM2 cam, Jet Hot headers, and an LS6 intake in a stalled automatic.

I dont know if that helps you, but they make power. They flowed 321 @ .600".

Wow those #'s are real low. They are even low for that 224/228 cam and STOCK heads.

stage 1.5 TEA 5.3 heads
.100 69.2 50.7
.200 140.2 112.1
.300 206.1 174.9
.400 251.4 222.0
.500 292.5 249.1
.550 308.9 255.6
.600 320.5 260.4

10.55 compression according to desktop dyno ( 64cc camber, 3.9 bore, .06 head gasket, .008 above the deck surface)

Yes I know the numbers in my sig are low. The are low b/c i still run the stock cat back, I was trying to keep things quiet, and I have NO supporting mods. I ran out of money once I became a college student. If you look at my dyno sheet (http://community.webshots.com/photo/...73660384KRAHYL) you can see at 5200 rpms the hp levels off and carries flat to about 6700 rpms. Mike from rapid motor sports said that he has seen it before and it is due to the exhast being choked up (e.g. my stock cat back) and once I get a cutout or catback and an intake i should be fine.

Hopefully this summer I will have the money to get a LS6 intake, cutout, under-drive pully and a K&N filter (yes i still use a paper one). Once I get the supporting mods I hope to be around 410-420rwhp, which is about right for H/C with suporting mods.

I like my 1.5s. They flowed 306@.600 on the intake and 267@.600 on the exhaust.

Whats the compression with those 1.5stg 5.3s on a stock ls1? Im looking to be conservative around 10.5-1. Is this doable?
