the 853's came on 99' models.
the 241's came on 00' models.
I had 853's and then went with the 241's for port and mill.
I guess that they have a better port design overall over the 853's and the older perimeter bolt. 806 I think....

806 was on the 97-98 ls1 cars and was the perimeter bolt. Supposed to have the least flow from the factory. But I dont think it matters what head you go with after they are ported.

I didn't know that....My friend bought a 00' used, and it has 241's on it. I thought the previous owner had swapped the heads out. That's the 1st 00' I've seen with 241's. Those with 241's on an 00' car must not be in the majority. Does anyone else on here have an 00' with 241's?

diecast is for toy cars

some late year 00 got 241's which are Semi Permanent Mold cast, they hold a cleaner shape, which is more repeatable than straight sand casting, with a better finish
