Default Crack In Block

OK, I have no idea what is going on but I'm loosing water in my radiator very badly. Not a drop here and there I mean I'm having to add about 32 ounces everytime after I drive. I don't see any leaking on the gound anywhere and I think I would be able to notice that much water leakage. What indications would I have if I had a crack in my block? I'm being told that a crack in my block would cause this but before I go replaceing my engine I want to make sure that is the problem. Are there any other indications anybody knows of that would also indicate I have a crack in my block? Come on fellas I really need some help on this one.

change your oil and see if there is any coolant in the oil - you may have a blown head gasket

is there alot of smoke pouring out the tailpipes?

Not seeing any smoke coming out of the pipes. I did have a blown head gasket a couple of weeks ago but it got replaced and now my water is not mixing with the oil anymore.

It's much more likely that you have a blown head gasket, or cracked/warped head than a cracked block.

A common problem too is a cracked liner. You will ussually see the smoke at high rpm decel. Last year we had 3 motor's with cracked liners that were caused by blown head gaskets.(coolant getting in the cylinder)

Did you take it someplace to get the head gasket done? If so, most places warrenty their work for 30days or so. Just an idea to get a free check done.

For cracked liners, are most folk replacing the block ($400-500), or replacing liners?

Two questions now.....how can I verify if it's a warped head and two....if it is a cracked liner like you said....what is the fix action for that?

Does anyone know how to verify if you have a warped or cracked head without actually taking it to a shop? I'm overseas and I'm not sure how good the mechanics out here are.

If you didn't remove anything yet do a preasue test and see if you can't pinpoint the assumed leak that way.
