I went to autozone, and bought:

(2) 5/16 vacuum caps - $2
(2) 5/8 push in breathers - $12
(1) LS1 Oil Cap. - $6

Drill a 5/8 or 3/4 hole in the oil cap and silicone the breater to the top of it. Push the other breather into the drivers side grommet in the back of the valve cover. Cap the intake and rearward pass side valve cover nipples. Leave the air tube from the throttle body to the forward pass side valve cover nipple.

THE END

The metco breather goes where your oil cap is. I just did two small k&n filters on either valve cover. The metco one can be bought from thunder or speed inc. I bought the k&n filters at a local speed shop for 15 dollars. You can then disconnect the rest of the pcv system.

What's the reason for leaving the air tube from the throttle body to the forward pass side valve cover nipple?

They are mini filters that let air pass through just like an air filter. In this scenario they are letting the positive crank case pressure vent without letting dirt and stuff into the engine from the outside air.

If you ditch the pcv system oil won't go anywhere in the intake track. Therefore, no oil on the TB.

Theres a check valve in the valve cover... in the unlikely event you have a vacuum it pulls in fresh air.

Probably not. I bought one thinking it might thread in as an oil cap replacement, but its a different attachment. That why i drilled through the oil cap. The 5/8 stem breathers are a good fit for a drilled oil cap as well as the driver side grommet, although it wont fit all teh way down because of the coil bracket.
