TSP MS3 cam kit, what else to take advantage?
Hey,
I am planning on getting the TSP MS3 Cam kit.
What else should I do to take full advantage of the cam. Should I keep stock compression, how can I raise it? I heard the ms3 cam doesnt make big power on stock compression?
I am going to be on pump gas.
Any suggestions helpful!
Thanks

Assuming 91-93 octane. You can raise your compression with a mill, thinner headgaskets, or different pistons. You might want to check into getting an Ls2 chain if you don't already have one and maybe a new oil pump depending on how many miles your current one has. Assuming that this is all going to be installed on the Z06. that is all I can think of.

Actually, the MS3 makes great power without a lot of compression. We see 60-65RW out of the cam with stock compression as long as you have ALL the bolt-ons to go along with it. While having more compression will add power, it's not a necessity while running the cam.

Thanks.
Some people are saying the zo6 should be fine with 450rwhp or less and stock injectors. Is the injector the same size between the ls6 and ls1

If you are going to mess with the heads (mill for higher compression) I would
just get a ported set of the stage 1 243 LS6 castings from Texas Speed-PRC and have them milled for you. They make pretty good power with the larger cams. Keep in mind you will have to flycut the pistons with this cam at 11:1 compression for example.

But I KNOW the area. I used to live in New Hyde Park for a whiiile.
Yea Ive seen your #'s. They are strong! Carmen at Vette Doctors tuned her right?
He has tuned mine and will be tuning the ms3 as well..
I think for this season I am going to do cam only and possibly heads next year. 440rwhp on stock heads would be sweet but I think more like 430+rwhp.

Yup, Carmen tuned the car. I'm actually going to drop the car off again to see if Carmen can tweak out the low end a little more.
With the LTs, intake, and maybe a pulley you should def. see at least 430rwhp cam only with the MS3.
