Question a few cam questions....

Been doing some cam research and I still have a few questions. I have a 1999 ws6 m6 with stock gearing and full boltons/offroad ypipe.

1)With respect to the TR 224 224 112 vs. the TR 224 224 114, will there be much difference in these two, for example, when taking off normally from a stop light? Will the 112 have a little more torque off idle compared to the 114?

2)With everything equal, will the 114 lope noticeably less than the 112?

3)Will the 114 get better gas mileage and have a less stinky exhaust (offroad ypipe) than the 112?

if you have an m6 most everyone on here is going to just go ahead and tell you to get the 112. theres isnt going to be a drastic difference between the two, just a little more lope with the 112 compared to the 114...power wise should be pretty much equal, nothing youll notice from light to light at least.

A 114 will act different than a 112. you will have power sooner with the 112.

Yes it will have power sooner.

Yes the 114 will lope less than the 112.

The 114 MAY get better gas mileage but nothing really noticeably.

Go with the 112...youll kick yourself if you dont...at least I would.

I noticed you posted in both, too, but you short-changed the other guy's thread. In this one you gave a semi-detailed reply, but in the other thread it was just a "112" and that's it. I figured you were getting tired of posting the same replies...

Hey Garrett, waiting to see how your car responds before I jump up to a big stick like yours.

By the way, when are you getting the cam swap done? You should have just went with the T-rex if you wanted to go big. May as well get the biggest one out there. I just want a little more oomph with the 224 cam. Not concerned with a track monster like you.

I went with the MS3 instead of the T-rex, cuz I want spray it eventually, Ill be installing it myself(I think ) as soon as the snow melts.

Is Curtis gonna tune yours? I gotta a mail order tune form TSP.




ps. With all that work your gonna have to actually drive it this year!
