What are the most common reasons for spinning a main bearing?
just like the topic says. Mine slipped. We have to take the pan off to see what happened and/or tear apart the motor. and see how bad it is but after draining the oil and looking at the filter we were able to see the gold metal sparkly stuff in the oil which is bearing.
I don't think this is common so I want to know what to look for and examine. I want to find out what caused the problem rather than just replacing the bearings and slappin her back together again..

Yep. These engines have a tendency to lose oil pressure at high rpms should the oil level be like 1 quart low. Another issue is weak fasteners. You have to remember the general only builds things to withstand the limits of stock RPM abuse, you can get away with a bit more prolonged RPM on the LS6...
