O.k... I would like to bump the CR up to 11.1 - 11.5.1. So, I figured that milled to 61cc and a gasket thinckness of .050 will get me at 11.2. (or, what combo do you guys suggest)
Now, is this correct first off? If so, what size cam can I run?
I dont know what size of a cam to run with this. A vendor, basically, told me just to get whatever cam and just check. Well, if I make the wrong "guess" and have to flycutt, then I might as well just run a bigger cam as I will have to flycut the piston reguardless. So, i'd rather not waste my time. I want to get this done/right the first time.
So, what cam do you guys know of that should/will fit this criteria. Or any other suggestions? And dont say "AFR", etc..
Thanks

Small block aftermarket gaskets will average .039"-.041" thickness and a stock gasket is .018" for the steel shim. (non LS1 specific)
Valve/piston clearance has as much or more to do with the valve event timing as max lift. Contact doesn't occur at max lift. The piston chases the exhaust valve as it closes and the intake valve chases the piston as it goes down the hole. You may not get any deffinitive answers on cam selection. USUALLY a milder am that is 230 @ .050" or less with max lift of say .540" will be okay with typical efi lobe seperation and intake centerline, but that doesn't mean diddly. You need to check your particular setup. That's part of the fun. Pick a cam to run and make the necessary modifications.
