Default 228R + Milled AFR 205's

Im looking for a head/cam setup for my summer driven DD A4 SS. I dont want to have to fly cut the pistons and would like to get 11:1 comp using milled afr 205's will this cam be ok? Also I'd like to be in the 11's with this setup along with a good stall (yank SS3600 or SS4000), fast 90/NW90 setup, Edelbrock stepped LT, ory, and slp dual dual would this be possible?

you shouldn't have any problems with that setup,i have a 228/228 with 5.3s shaved .030 and i think those afrs have more valve drop than mine does.

You should be in the 11's. I ran 12.14 an LS6 intake, Z06 cam, and stock LS1 heads, but my car is an M6.

I'm actually going to be running that same setup in my C5, except I'm shooting for an 11.2:1 ratio. You should be fine tho, they're usually setup w/ 224/228 .581/.588 114 cams, you'll be running a 228 .588 114 so I think you'll be safe. I've seen ppl run bigger cams w/ the same heads.

Phil - we need to get together and check out each others rides after the weekend. You're going to enjoy the upgrades! I recommended the TSP 228R to a co-worker with AFR 205 .59cc heads.

Do you know if he'll be flycutting, or running a 0.040" gasket?

You have to be excited. Sometimes I wonder if I should just pay to have someone do my work.

I'll have results by Saturday. Car's w/ Wong's Performance right now, and should be done today if not early tomorrow. So we should be on the dyno either tomorrow or Saturday. It'll be interesting to see how much of a difference swapping to AFRs (62cc) from MTIs (66cc), upping the CR to 11.2:1, adding a 90/90 setup, and getting some tuning TLC from TJ will do for the car. (FYI: Also being added are new inj, plugs, wires, and pulley) Before I was at 403/378, and I'm thinking ~430-440/400-415 with the new setup through my A4 and IRS. We'll see though, I'll keep you guys posted.

It's a mustang dyno, but I'll have numbers by the end of the day.
