If it's stock, that's all you can do, tq to 22 ft. lbs. Did you check for a bent PR? Other maintenence stuff? Plugs? Wires? Fuel filter?

Do the rockers keep coming loose? is that what is causing the pinging?
Or are you just guessing?

If they keep coming loose, try putting some blue loctite (medium strength) on the threads of the bolts that hold the rockers down.
Torque them to 22 lbs. Crank the engine over by hand a few times, then re-torque them all again. you should be good to go.

The ls1 stock rockers are non-adjustable.

Did you change anything else besides pistons? Are the pistons flat tops? Domes? Did you change heads? I'm wondering if you did anything that would require tuning.

2004 Corvette and you just rebuilt the motor and you're guessing that the problem is valve adjustment. Sounds like there is more going on. Maybe more info' about the history might help some of the guru's here to lend a hand.

Maybe it's not related to the rebuild at all, maybe you have one or more injectors on the way out, or something esle with the fuel system. You could try a filter first and see what that does for you.

lol, I'm not sure either. On f-body's it's on the body behind the rear passenger seat. Just follow the fuel lines from the tank, you're sure to find it somewhere.

Curious, was it pinging before the rebuild? What was the cause of the cracked piston?

It didn't ping before the rebuild.....7psi of boost on stock pistons, stock themostat and wrong plugs...thats bad.

To trace the fuel lines it gets nasty....you have to removed the x-pipe and some type of skid plate thats between the exhaust and Unidrive train.

Well, I did a little reading, you're going to love this... From what I just read the '04's have the filter in the tank...

What plugs are you running now? I think TR6's would be best for that setup.

It just doesn't seem like that would be the problem. the car only has 11,000 miles on it.

The car also have 38lb injectors in it. which have been running fine and programmed with.....now what would be the best way to determine if its the fuel filter? Maybe check fuel rail pressure?? if so what should it be? if its ok.

Is it the stock fuel pump? I honestly don't know much of anything about the vette fueling system, stock on an f-body is 58 psi.

As far as I know the fuel pump is stock....But what bothers me the most is before the rebuild it ran fine and after the rebuild it ran fine for 200 miles....nothing fits to me.
