I had one in my 04 GTO...M6 with 3.91 gears and TSP Stage II Darts. It idled very well, drove great and pulled like a freight train. I just wrecked the car and the engine will be going into an Fbody soon.

3.73 = 70mph @ 1700rpm
4.10 = 71mph @ 1900rpm
i dont know how much of a difference that would make..
i want to say its not much, but i dont really know.
maybe someone else can say?
and how much of a difference it will be in gas with that monster cam you're looking at?
i think that would affect your mileage more than the gears.
but again.. i really dont know..
yeah.. gas is > 3.50 per gallon here..
