anybody use one of these on their ls1? if so where did you tap it in? I am doing a new LS1 build and i thought it would be a nice way to pre-lube the engine before i start it.. as well as for when it sits in the garage over winter, ect.

I have one on mine, 3 qrt. my oil filter is remote mounted due to restricted space with LS1 transplant.
The accumulater is connected with a T join. I also use an electric solonoid to operate it so i can turn it off and on at will.

Car is in the work shop with a lifter problem so i cant even have a look as i cant remember brand name of remote mount but any speed shop sponsor should have or get them. The solonid was i think purchased from canton who make the accumulator by the workshop i use! i will check with them. This was all done 3yrs ago so please excuse my bad memory. I'm also in N.Z.

We sell a -10 fitting that has the correct thread to put in the block oil galley. It would work on the drivers side low hole that comes out of the block, or the one by the back of the intake. If you use the one at the back of the intake, you should drill the block out at that port too the main oil galley with a drill around .400 before use(assuming the engine is apart).

I just installed a 2 Qt Accusump with a manual valve. Put it behind the passenger seat, on the floor . I didn't like paying for all the stainless hose and fittings, or adding the weight, but now that it is installed I really like to see the oil pressure rise to about 25 lb before I start the motor every time..... I put the hose in where the oil pressure sensor was, and moved the sensor to the front of the block, drivers side. I drilled out the hole just like Kurt said. Kurt:: Thanks for all of the ideas last year when I had oil pressure problems. Turned out to be oversize cam bearings, and the pickup was on the bottom of the pan due to the height of ARP 12 point nuts and washers.
dumb mistake

Hey guys.. good info here! I am kinda thinking about instead of using a remote oil filter, using a "sandwich" oil filter port, and then using that to put in a oil cooler, and then tying into that system? Should work, get a little extra oil capacity, and also a little cooler temp.. remote mount wont benefit me.. cant drill cuz just got engine together
