Default LS2 timing chain

Should I purchase just the LS2 chain or the entire timing set? I'll be doing a cam swap and want to upgrade the chain and oil pump.

If the gears are worn, then yes - go ahead and replace them. How many miles are on your car?

Mine had 67k on it when I did my cam and my gears were fine. So I just used the chain.

I have just over 43,000. I don't want to get in there then realize I should have just ordered the entire set.

Just get the chain. @ 43k, you shouldn't need the whole gear set and stuff. Just the chain will be fine.

Sounds good, I didn't want to spend the extra $50 anyway.

Is there anymore input on this (Chain only vs Chain and Sprockets)? How hard is it to change the crank sprocket? Where is the best place to buy these?

The chain and sprockets wear together as a matching set. The distance from tooth to tooth on the worn sprocket will be mated with the matching links on the worn chain. Popping a new chain on a worn sprocket is not the right thing to do IMO.

A few more bucks gets you both. I would replace both, or niether.
