Not sure if this is needed but heres the flow #'s.

The flow #'s on the heads have nothing to do with the P/V clearance. The size of the cam and the combustion chamber size on the heads (have they been shaved and how much) is what determan's the clearance. And the duration is the big determaning factor. Most likely the clearance will be fine but you could clay it just to make sure which is always wise when going to a biger cam.

Flow numbers do depend on p/v clearance, albeit not that much.

put modeling clay on top of the piston, and carefully roll the motor over. you can see the contact pattern.

i feel buying a magnetic base dial indicator, and a degree wheel is the way to go. you can degree the cam (obviously), and also put check springs on the head and actually measure PtoV...claying it is not as accurate, imo.

I've only clayed to get P/V clearances. I use the check springs while degreeing the cam but didn't know I could get my P/V clearance out of it as well. How do you get the P/V clearance while degreeing the cam?

No, I meant getting the dial indicator serves 2 purposes. It can be used to degree the cam (heads off) and also to check PtoV clearance.

Ok, I didn't know if there was another way that I haven't heard of. I was trying to figure that out.

Im getting ready to put the same cam in my car. Im running stock heads cut ~.005. Im going to use the clay method. Texas Speed told me that it would be close but, it should work fine.

I hate clay! Its a pain and IMO not accurate. Get a dial indicator and check springs!
