Not normal. Is it a A4 or M6? Are you using the brake to burnout? Definitely seems wrong, anything done to the PCM yet?

If the car is warm/hot and the the street you are on is hot you may have a hard time with the stock converter. I did that last year. Took my friend out for a ride and was playing around. I got the car real warm and pulled onto a side street. It was an 80 degree day and the tires were hot, street was hot and car was hot. I couldn't get the tires to turn over, stuck hard to the street.

Best thing to do would be try that when your car is cold in the morning. If it still acts that way when cool you may have a tranny issue. If it works okay you may have just had the same problem I did. My car went out and ran in the low 12s a couple days later.

Good Luck!

If you are trying to burnout while holding the brakes it will be hard. If your car has abs then brake pressure is being applied to all four tires.
You should purchase a line lock to hold the front tires only and then you can light the back tires up at will.

You sound like you need a line lock.
BTW: How does this have anything to do with Internal Engine?
