????ported stock heads????
I ported my friends heads. 99 Vette 6 speed. We took off the 853 castings and put on some hand ported 241 heads. Lightly cleaned the intake ports and port matched the exhaust, polished the chambers. LS6 intake, Cam 232/236 114lsa .567 lift, 1 3/4 headers no cats, 3" x pipe and the stock cat back 
He made 413rwhp and 383rwtq. I'm still trying to get him to ditch the stock mufflers and port the throttle body to see what it will make with better mufflers. It does still sound completly stock though, total sleeper.

I've had some questions along the same lines. if I get my stock heads ported/polished and milled, put bigger valves if possible. and of course change out rockers and springs (planning on doing cam and headwork at the same time) What would I be looking at (all headwork professionally done) for the headwork as compared to buying a set of nice heads. would it be worth it? also how much compression could I be looking at if I had the heads milled and a thinner head gasket?

Im playing with a set that was already ported...but the polish job was non-existant...I'll be getting them flowed as soon as I finish them up. There were supposedly flowing in the 310 range as they were, but no flow chart to back them up. We shall see. My cam will not be near as big as orangeapeel's "baby" cam 
but I'll be happy with 400ish on a Mustang dyno....for a little while anyway
