I'd pull it apart and check the oil pump and also put some titanium pushrods in there. You might want to invest in a pushrod length checker - $20(?).

Good luck
titanium pushrods? those must be expensive.

I disagree. I ran stock push rods with a 24x 612 lift cam for a couple years. NEVER had a problem.
You don't need better pushrods but i would recomend some 7.425 chromoly pushrods to quiet down the valve train.
You ticking problem was answered in the foirst reply "shouldaboughttheZz".
You need to put a NEW o ring in there. with the heat the oring will shrink and there fore you CAN NOT re use it. i have installed over 100 cams and have seen this a few times. people bring me cars that are ticking and have lower oil presser after doing a cam/ oil pump swap. and every time it has been that they reused the o ring. well actually once it was pinched.
take it back out. take the oil pump apart and install just the oil pump case first with a new o ring. after you get the oil tube bolted up you can reassemble the oil pump and put everything back together.
I do it this wayu cause it is easier to put the oil pump on AND you can see the pick up tube outlet after you bolt it on so you can't pinch the o ring.

You might want to pursue another line of work.

From the site you posted:
Viscosity is ordinarily expressed in terms of the time required for a standard quantity of the fluid at a certain temperature to flow through a standard orifice. The higher the value, the more viscous the fluid. Since viscosity varies inversely with temperature, its value is meaningless unless accompanied by the temperature at which it is determined.
In other words, the lower the temperature, the higher the viscosity. Higher viscosity equals thicker fluid. Trust me, I've studied tribology. I think you've just got your wires crossed.

In the first thread he said he did'nt use the o-ring, that it was still laying there??

It must be aerating, causing some of the ticking noise

lol Sorry! Titanium pushrods will not be needed. I mis-spoke on that

BUt chromemoly hardened pushrods of the proper length will work nice and might quiet things down. Plus they are much cheaper than titanium!

...and the oil "thickness" deal. Anyone that has done an oil change would know that the oil drains much faster when the engine is warm, 'cuz it's thinner.

Not sure man, sounds like you got some issues. My Zo6 oil pump puts out 80 psi at WOT. Cold idles at 50 psi and warm to hot idles at 39-41 psi You do have too much valve spring for that little cam.

well that's the same pump i have... so i'm loosing pressure somewhere guess i'm gonna try putting a new o-ring in today....
and that's the spring kit that came in the cam kit

i dont really understand how that's gonna stop the ticking from the lifters... but ... i'll give it a try, and hope for luck!

make sure you get the right one. There is a black one and a green one. The green one is thicker. Depending on the look of the pick up tube, depends on which o-ring you need.
