I'm looking for guidance on choosing a cam for my 6.0L Chevy II project.
What I'm looking for is a nice cam that makes good power from 2500-6500 rpm.
I'd like to see around 400rwhp.
Car will just be a cruiser/play toy.
Car will probably see very little track time (3-4 times a year at most).
I'm not looking to fly cut the pistons or shift at 7000rpm to make power.
I would like to keep the converter around 3000 if possible.
Bottom end will be stock. May go with some ARP Rod Bolts.
I do plan to get all bolt on mods needed to support the setup.
Current parts: 03 LQ4/4L80E, LS6 intake, Z06 MAF, Weldon pump and filters, SX regulator, Speed Inc Rails, SLP double roller, SVO 42lb injectors, 9" rear /w 4.56 and spool, ASP Pulley.
Looking to get some Patriot LS6 Heads and some Pacesetter LT also.
Just looking for a possibly proven setup to make some good power. I'm not trying to break any track or dyno records.
I plan to call Thunder Racing or Futral, but would like some input so I can half way know what I'm looking for.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I'm looking at these cams as a starting point.
Texas Speed Torquer v.2 Camshaft
Texas Speed Magic Stick 3 Camshaft
Thunder Racing Custom "TRAK" Camshaft
FMS F13 Camshaft
Anyone have any input?
Anyone have one of these in their 6.0L?
Searching I found very few 6.0L combos. And of those most used custom cams with little to no info.
Even on the truck site seems every post I read was someone wanting to stuff a Trex in a 5.3L.
Someone help a newb...

I'm fixin to put together a 6.0 forged with 2.2 valve reliefs, 6.125 rods.
It will be stuffed with a 232/234, .595/.598 113+0 XE-R (Trqr V2 from TSP) and topped with Stage 2.5, 5.3 L ported heads (2.04 int/1.575 exht) milled to 59.8 cc, GM 6.0 MLS gasket, 7.40 p-rods, Comp 850-16 lifters.
11.44 SCR and 8.43 DCR.

It is an old thread, but since you want more suugestions spec j ...
Based on what the original poster inquired about, I have the same setup (although on a 2001 Camaro SS). I used the F13 cam in an LQ4 engine, backed with a 3000 rpm stall. It dyno'ed right at 400rwhp and I do dialy drive it. I believe any bigger and the stall, driveability and low LQ4 compression will not play nicely. A better option would be a ~228 cam.

How much jam can be made with a cam only LQ4?
Im looking into getting a LQ4 to swap into my 95 Mustang....
Will do the LS6 intake, 1 3/4 headers and be hooked up to a 5 or 6 speed manual...
Is 400RWHP or more do-able without taking the heads off?? It will be Mostly street driven, very little track outings planned...needs to get good MPG as well....slight cam lope is OK! Possibility of adding some nitrous in the future...
