SHOCKED 243 castings factory on 02 Z28???
Totally blew my mind, older gentleman i know brought his car over for my to listen to a noise comin from under the hood, car was bought brand new with 45 miles on it in 2002, car has 13,012 on it now......never has had anything done except oil changes. Looked around the compartment and see a 243 on the passenger head...... I have never seen an F-body come from GM with LS6 heads.....has anyone else

dam ive always wondered too why there were so many fbodies with different heads/blocks in them... thats why some cough ford people always argue that some f-bodies are "slow" and some hand their ***'s to them lol, then they think they're on spray lol i guess we know whats really going on good job GM! shoulda put it in all of em' dammit lol

I could be mistaken (and probably am), but I believe my 2000 SS has 243 castings on it.
And I think it's bone stock...
I'm in the middle of a H/C swap and have been under the hood all this week. I might have to double check that...hmmm
Either way I just bought a set of TSP's CNC'ed LS6 heads to go on it...
I'll have to look into this...
So are all 243 castings LS6 heads? Or did GM change it over the course of 98-02?
And I think it's bone stock...

I was under the impression that the Fbodys NEVER got the LS6 heads, that they were strictly for the ZO6.
Are you sure those are LS6 heads, with sodium filled valves?

But still, didn't they assemble the LS6 motors in a completely different plant/area than the LS1's, with the LS6 heads not even being delivered to the factory that built the regular LS1?
