Has your valve train got any louder?? It looks like that could be part of a retainer, lifter, or rocker.

I would pull the valve covers and check the rockers... where the roller mounts to the head. Check all the retainers keeping your springs, and if you have to pull the heads and check the lifters.

Here this will help with getting to the rockers pick through the steps and use the ones for the valve spring removal. Theres also a step by step for the heads too.

Rods seem are pretty much a definite. Although I've heard arguments both ways on this seems to be that most will tell you to change the pushrods to hardened if you ever have to pull them out. The springs and retainers are usually done along with cam swap but not so often with a stock cam I would think.

Should I go the hardened pushrods, retainers and springs but still running the stock cam for now. Cam coming later in summer and suggestions on what kind of rod retainers and springs to go with?

You should clearly identify the source of that metal first, as your list so far hasn't included rockers and that may be what you need right now.

Definately the bearing cap that holds all the needle bearings in you rocker. Expect to find a bunch of tiny needle bearings strewn about the engine.
