Default Bigger valves, larger valve seat needed??

Going with the LS1 style 2.00" intake valves on my 5.3L 862 Heads, which came with 1.89" valves. And a port job too.

My question is do I need to go with larger valve seats?

And does anyone have a set of intake valves for sale?

Nope, 2 inchers will fit in the stock seats. New manley valves are 200 bucks for all intake and exhaust valves.
Check the sponsors.

2.02" Intake, 1.55" Exhaust valves fit on stock seats. Larger seats are required for bigger than those.

What exactly is the stock LS1 size? I read it was a 2.00

From http://www.automotiverebuilder.com/ar/eb040538.htm

The exhaust valves are all the same size (1.55?), but the intakes came in two different sizes. The 4.8L and 5.3L engines used 1.890? intake valves, while the 6.0L, LS1 and LS6 5.7L engines used 2.00? intake valves
The LQ4 6.0 I am getting comes with 317's assembled with the valves and the springs, But I want to leave them in for $$$ when I sell them.
I am going with 5.3/4.8 862 heads for CR and a mild port and larger valves to get better flow than the stock 317's.

Stock seats are fine, many companies use a 2.04 with stock seats.

the valve seats themselves are only 2.02 so the biggest valve job you can really put on them is a 2.00. But that being said you can still run a 2.02 valve on a 2.00 valve job. But you can get more than enough flow out of a 2.00 valve on a ls1 or a 5.3 head.

Thats pushing it, you dont get much surface to seal with. Either run a 2.02, or put in the new seat and run a 2.05+ A 1.60 on the exhaust side is fine all day long.

you'd should look for a set of ls6 valves, they're a little lighter weight. Would be a little better valve.

I hear ya. But some companies do it. Hell Absolute speed used to do a 2.055 intake valve on a stock seat.
I found that out the hard way.

of course there would be advantages from running a bigger seat, you could run a bigger valve job... ie bigger valve which equals more flow.
