Default Oil Pressure

What is your hot oil pressure at idle and with what oil. I use GC and mine is a little below 40 psi at idle.

mine is around 30 PSI when really hot outside and fully warmed up, but i use royal purple 5w-30 and i think it thinned out by now so thats why my pressure is like that. i will be switching to german castrol 0w-30 this weekend though to see if it makes a difference.

warmed up at idle is 50-55 psi.

Valvoline 10w30 for now, will be going back to royal purple on next oil change.

i used to run 5w-30. Id get 55-60 psi when first starting it, then hot it would idle down to 40 psi, but never below. However with my new cam I was told that to run either 5w-40 or 10w-40, so i purchased some amsoil 10w-40 and put it in a few days ago and it def doesnt thin out as much and oil pressure holds more even after a few hard runs on the street. I would recommend a 5w-40 or 10w-40 synthetic to anyone.

Well with mobile 1 now charging an arm and a leg id say just get a 12 quart case of amsoil as its within $5 of the mobile 1 12 quart case. They have 10w-40 and I believe 5w-40 too. I dunno though about 0w-40 but just check out their website.

With GC and at 200F oil temps, my idle oil pressure is 29psi. Mine is automatic with a 700rpm idle (an M6 would have a higher idle, and therefore higher idle oil pressure)

At 70mph and 200F oil temps, my oil pressure is 42-44psi.

One thing I love about GC is that even when the oil temps get hotter, the pressure does not drop very much. Although I've also never seen my oil temp get hotter than 230F. It typically runs 195-205F except when it's above 80F outside.

Mine would go down as low as 30psi at idle, but it was feeding both turbos oil too via -4an line

When it's up to temp. I'm at 40psi or just a tad below. When I do a few high RPM blasts and get the temp up a little, I notice a slight drop. I think I put in Castrol last time.
