With stock gears tr224 would be a good compromise. IF youre gonna get gears you can go much bigger.

It depends on your driving style and where you want to be @ what rpm. (It depends on if you want to blow everythng away on the highway, or from stop light to stop light.)
Any future mods. are good to know about as well before making a final decision. If I had to do it all over again, I would have put in a 2 piece timing cover. The Vettes require removal of the steering rack just to remove the harmonic damper bolt. It's fun anyway, or we wouldn't do it.

Not really, considering that the topic starter has an auto with a high stall toque converter.

Would a Yank ss3200 2.1str be big enough for the TSP 233/239 ?

If not, would it be big enough for either the TSP 228R or Comp 224/228 114lsa?

I don't think I would want to go with a Yank ss3600 2.5str. From what I've read, and correct me if I'm wrong, the 2.5 str would be really loose with 2.73 gears???

Sorry to hi-jack...

PP 243's and 224/228 .581/.588 on a 113+0. 409whp SAE w/ cats. 100% daily driveable and tons of power under the curve. I needa TB/90 setup to get her up into the 420s. the graph in my sig was on my other set of heads @59cc, Patriot's S2, but same cam.

The 1-7/8 Kooks LT's got me SAE 424.5rwhp on the stock intake (LS6) stock heads and a 228/230 112lsa. Torque was SAE 410.5rwt. Blackwing at the time. Here is where having 36# injectors @ 4bars, (58psi.) to run it at this point is needed, cam only. I replaced the heads recently, and bought the FAST 90 LSX and used the ETC LS2/LS7 90mm throttlebody. The heads are a ported LS6 #243 Stage II polished head, that has been milled down to 62cc. (11.0:1 CR) I brought this setup over to Slowhawk at DEZ and the stock 40K mile clutch, good for at least C-500ft./lbs started to slip during the torque peak @ 4800rpm. So this new SPEC clutch and flywheel had to be installed. Haven't had it dynoed yet, but it made over 440rwhp at 5000rpm on the slipping clutch. Can't wait to find out where we stand.

wow good gains on the intake. I know my pacesetters and cats were a bad choice for exhaust but I screwed up my stock heads by crossthreading them -so I did a new set of heads at the same time as the exhaust and fundage was low. I'd love to pickup a used fast 90 and a nw90 tb and put some QTPs on w/ HVMC, I know i'd get a sick increase with that combo.

a cam I had before. that wasn't an overall max achiever. was the ASA cam. It made great torque and decent HP accross the board. and it sounded mean as well. one thing I liked is it had a low lift so I wasnt changing springs every 10k miles. I made 390rwhp, with all bolt on's minus the electric water pump.
