If you have an m6 car is the TSP MS4 or a Trex cam a good choice for a daily driver with stock gears?

This combination gives me 373 horse, 360tq with a 2002 WS6, M6
Through high-flow cats AND with the factory cat-back in place.
With entry-level heads, you should reach your 400 horse.

Direct-Flo Airlid • SLP Smooth Bellows • Bo White Ported Throttle Body
NGK TR55-IX {Iridium} Plugs • SLP Underdrive Pulley • LS2 Chain
180 Thermostat • TSP Ported Oil Pump • Dynatech SuperMAXX Header System
Comp Cams Custom Grind (220/224 .532/.535 114) • Comp Cams 915 Springs and Pushrods • Custom PCM programming

The Comp Cams grind has an easy ramp rate = less strain on the springs.
Very streetable.

Dude,........You live in Texas!!!!!! W.T.F.??? You have absolutly NO worries! Here where I live we cant possibly go bigger than 224/226 112 and survive the dreded........ SNIFFER!! and, all that stuff about not using the stock valve train is'nt just stuff you want to tell whoever makes the cam to recomend the correct stuff! Rockers, push rods, seals, ect. ect!

TR224 112 lsa is the quintessential street cam. Patrick G (mod) had a custom 224/228 ground that I would consider to be the only better street cam I've seen on here. Anything else is leaving power on the table below 6000 rpms from all that I've seen.

what would be the difference between the 224/228 Patrick G is using vs the TSP 228R ??
i have the TSP 228R on my ls2, and i love it. no need to gear up, plenty of power everywhere, dyno graph in my sig.

Can you get to 8.5 DCR on stock compression without closing the intake valve around 34*? Assuming an ultra fast LSK 219 lobe (269 adv), that's about what I get. Does the spreadsheet I'm using need some fine tuning?

one of the biggest reasons is that on the street you normally can't get the hookup needed to launch a big cam right on the street. On a lot of large cams you need to launch higher because of where they make power, and even with slicks on the street I still haven't found good asphalt to launch on. Not saying that it is impossible it is just hard to find.

I've never been able to get a "spreadsheet build" above 8.31 on a stock longblock without going to a ridiculously short cam or IVC, and 8.11 or 8.23 is more common.

If you stay in the low/mid 230's with a good tune and some gears on the street and you won't be disappointed....

Here is my dyno with tsp's228r. I also only pulled to 6000... JUst had that bumped to 6800 and wow big difference. I will have a pulley ls6 intake and ported throttle body soon and should be well into the 400 range... cam only
