Default DCR on 91 octane

Hi,

I looked everywhere and could not find what the max DCR you can run on California 91 octane. Thanks

if you are running a low overlap camshaft, look for a number around 8:1. 93 would be able to handle up to about 8.4:1

If the cam I am thinking of running has a overlap of "65". Is this on the high side, and if so can you get away with more DCR ??

Just let us know the specs on the cam, both at .006 and .050", LSA and pin angle. The overlap I know is in mm*deg, which is an area. Lift*duration when the overlapping periods are on top of each other.

In my "V", I'm running 11.05 scr and 8.6 dcr on Costco 91'. It was 101' today and zero knock. Dusted an SRT8 Charget to boot. Results in sig.

Well, thats good then. So, you can run a little more and be safe. What kind of timing are you running?

P.S. what do you do for a living? Because if I had enough money to have both of your cars and enough time to put three cams in a V, that sounds like a damn good job to have. All the time and money you want!!!

8.5 DCR is a good safe compression for 91, 93 you can bump it up too about 8.8ish.

I'm running 8.56 on california 91.

2c5s, Do you mind posting the specs of the cam, and where you make peak hp/tq. If you could also post the rest of the motor specs, and supporting mods, that would be very helpful. Thanks

Specs are in my sig. LSK223/XER228 116+3 442/399 Peak h.p. is 6,300 peak tq 4,800.

The LSK223/LSK227 111+0 will hopefully get on the dyno this week. The car feels stronger, that's for sure.
