Those parts look drop dead gorgeous. One question thouogh:

I dunno about four strokes. But on the two street bike I run on the street(Yamaha RD), individual filters are a no no. There is not enough dead air in the intake system to keep up with demand from the engine. We use a y-boot setup with a big K&N filter to give enough dead area. I wonder if a larger common plenum than the one that harrop offers would be the ticket.

650rwhp is my goal. I'll take more though.

Not quite shure on this one. I would think that the 8 filters would be able to provide ample air into the system. These motors also have IAC valves that let air in as well. I don't think it would be any diffrent than the guys over seas that run them with no filters. The individual filters would provide more air than the common plenum, so I don't see what it would hurt.

Anyone tried making a plenum using the design concept headers embody - e.g. 4 pipes coming off of the TB's and merging into 1? I know it's not the same concept as the air is being pushed through it the opposite way and at a slower rate, but I would think that would work better than the pictures we see here of existing plenums. Dunno...

Shawn, that's the Harrop box. It's flow rate is horrible. It knocks the intake back down to the HP level of the 90/90 combo. I'm thinking ID filters is the only way to go. Plus you get even flow to each trumpet. Just seems to be th eeasiest, most effective plan that I could come up with.

If this is staying N/A I would shoot for a really tight lsa...like 106 degrees. Those intakes love tight lsa's and can make insane amounts of power with great drivability on wild cams.

I'm working with Geoff at Thunder on a cam. I'm gunna head down there soon and let him flow the heads, with and without the intake. He's talked with a couple of people who run these types of intakes, and we've come up with a good starting point.
