i didnt think the ls2 could go upto 454 without deck plates, learn something new all the time. very sick .. that intake setup will fit uner a stock camaro hood ? or you got some big cowl to go along with it ?

The LS2 block can go a bit bigger if you use the LS7 sleeves that are out now. They weren't avalible when I placed my order or I would have gone much bigger. If those would have been avalible, I would have gone 4.190 bore x 4.250 stroke. The intake should fit under the hood fine. I have a stock SS hood which allows a little more clearence, but I think it would fit under a regular Z hood just fine. I think my biggest concern is finding a filtering system. I'll do that after I get it in the car and can take some measurments.

You probably dont remember me...but I bought your buddies black 94 Z about 4 years ago.....I met him in Jackson Miss and bought the car.....I am on a similar quest as you are..only with a LT1@500 rwhp normally aspirated through an auto and a 9 inch on pumpgas..but anyway...back to your junk

Have you seen pics of the Katech C5R engine in the Compuware Corvette? It has a carbon fiber plenum box over a very similar setup.....me personally I would not run a setup like you are talking about with individual filters...they will be sitting directly over the headers and heat rises..especially in a street driver..heat soak and detonation(from the heat soaked air) will be a problem.

What kind of hood do you have? If I was gonna run a individual filter setup I would build a box type deal that would seal against the bottom of a cowl hood and pull cool air from the cowl area....otherwise Katech is a sponsor here ( Ithink) they would prolly help you on a C5R box or something similar.

David, I remember you. I was with Kevin when we brought you the car. As for the manifold, it's very popular in Australia, and many people use it on the street over there. The heat soak issue is only going to be at a stand still. Once moving, the hot air is dispursed from the engine bay. The reason for the manifold is because no one makes one that can move the air that my heads need. Sheetmetals may get closer, but in turn you get a unstreetable power band and still have bad driveability from having a single inlet intake. With this, I still have a long runner that keeps the power were I want it and have unmatched driveabilty compared to other cars. At this point, a heat sheild over the headers may be a better choice than boxing off the filters and killing the power. I have already spoke with Katech to not much avail. We ended up back on the individual filter theory.

What it says and what it will actually do are 2 diffrent things. It looks good, but it still feeds from a single throttle body, so for the prices being equal, I'll take the ITB. There far superior in almost every aspect of a single TB manifold. There's a reason the C5R racing team and other race teams run ITB's instead of single TB's. If there came a point in which this manifold was not fitting or it was being a pain, I would look in that direction, but for now, I believe it's going to be the best thing for this application.

Guys, the pics still work for me. Not sure why you can't see them????

That's well beyond a substantial increase. Do you have a link to this?

Frankly nobody on the street can afford (or justify) an intake like the C5-R. That intake costs over $10,000. The C6.R intake is even more and is proprietary information and can't be sold. The closest thing is the Harrop Hurricane and that's over 4k.
