Best Lifter for a Solid Roller?
I have ET 215 and thinking about going street/strip roller cam with Jesel rockers.
What do you think is the best roller lift for a LS1?

The BEST lifters are Jesel's - no question. However, they are expensive and probably overkill for a street/strip car The Isky's you mentioned are a very good choice. Isky makes great products! Hope this helps...

The BEST lifters are LSM keyed lifters. Made from tool steel, with an integral keyway, they are 5% lighter and much stronger than the Jesels. But they are very expensive- definitely overkill for the street.

That's right .937" diameter. The block can handle the bushing; we outfit LS blocks with them all the time. A new cam will have to be ground for the .850 wheel. Your best bet is to call for pricing as I can't post it here. Ask for me or Steve Jr.

I was thinking direct replacement drop in when I posted about the Jesels, they make a set that will work with the factory plastic "lifter tray"(LSM may as well...)
I agree with Al that the best all out set - up would utilize a .937 keyed lifter and a block prepared with bronze bushings. Again agreeing with Al the block will definitely handle the bushing, I've done a C5R with the Jesel setup.
I guess I put my foot in my mouth saying that Jesels were the "BEST", huh?? I probably really offended Al . Forgive me. Lighter and stronger is definitely better!! I kind of forgot about LSM, but they definitely do top notch work and have some of the best products out there. I've seen some of it firsthand!

The Jesel lifter has proven itself a very durable lifter in the LS engine, and would be my first choice if price was not a problem. The Morel seems like a good part as I sit here in Newark airport heading home after driving the Power tour with solid roller engine in my Nova with powerglide trans and 4.33 rear gears. I did break a rocker coming in to Harrisburg, but the lifters ran perfect.

When I talked to Billy (engine quote guy) at W2W last week, he recomended the Morel's as they have had great luck with them. He did say for an all out no expense spared motor, go with the Jesels.
I have been looking into the Crower LS1 series solid roller lifters with the HIPPO oiling option. These have a tie bar and totally removes the plastic lifter cups from what I have been told.
Has anyone used these? Kurt?

Crower has great quality parts that we use often in the gen1 engines with great results. That said, I would not put a tie-bar lifter in if there was an alternative. If you don't like the plastic guides, Jesel makes a metal direct replacement lifter guide for the LS series engine (requires some clearance machining on LS2 block).

If you are going to increase the spring pressure, make sure you go with a lifter that pressure oils the needles on the roller.
Unlike race engines, street engines spend a lot of time at lower rpm's where there isn't enough splash oil to keep the rollers well lubricated.

What lifts would fit ET 215 heads and still have pressure oil to the rollers?

As far as I know the Morel's don't have pressure oiling.

GM does not use tie-bar lifters because of durability and the extra weight you carry on every cycle. If my choice was the Morel lifter with the factory guide or a tie-bar lifter set, I would chose the Morel/factory guide.

They do offer a pressure fed lifter both to the bearings on the roller and the face of the cam. The LS1 solid in this series is not done yet.
