Paging Pat the oil man.... Looking for a recommendation on oil for desert heat? I am moving to Arizona this month, and I've noticed the 0-40M1 seems to thin out here in the Hawaii summer heat, oil pressure at idle drops down more than during cooler months. So figure maybe a RP 20-50 or something. I havent found any M1 except 0-40/10-30/10-40 on island, so my options are semi-limited.
Anyone else running in the desert heat recommendations are welcome as well. Thanks.

There's a ton of information here if you haven't already checked it out. This is Pat's home away from home, from what I understand. Do a search for "GC" or "Mobil1 0w40" I'm sure that they'll be recommended by someone.

Gearhead1, thanks, lost that link long time ago. I wanted to ask this time since I never seen the desert heat in the prior question/answers on oil use. Pat is the man!

You don't need a 20w50, no matter how hot it might get over there. 10w40 Redline would work out perfectly for you, or 10w40 Amsoil. I don't know if you can get GC 0w30 over there, but even that would work extremely well too.
