lets try this again jp performance double roller, cant get it on, its like the chain is too short. i knw how to install these things ive jus never had this problem. ideas?
1. compare it to the one you took off and see if its shorter.
2. get a new one, if its the same size, send it back cause thats not the prlblem
3. how are you putting the chain on? ive always had to put the chain on the gear then align the cam dowl.

When I did my double roller I thought my chain was too short. Turned out I had pushed the crank gear on too tight so the chain was wedged up against the block and wouldn't wrap as far around the crank gear as it needed to, which made it look too short. That doesn't look like your problem from the picture but i guess you could try pulling the crank gear out a fraction of an inch and see if it goes on then.
If that's not it, make sure the cam is pulled forward all the way, it can slide back a quarter inch or so into the block so you have to keep it pulled forward. Then try to get a single bolt started. Then use a ratchet handle or something in the hole in the camshaft to pull the cam gear up to get the other two holes and the dowel to line up.

ok, the od set and new set are 1 3/4" in length. id like to know the clearance measurement on the stock crank gear if anyone knows. ive noticed something else, the chain seems to not have any interferance but is only fully seated on a couple teeth on the crank gear. i dont think theres a clearnace issue, i dont wanna have to tke it off again
