Default What rockers/pushrod combo with your ETP heads??

I would like to get everybody's setup info on their rocker arm and pushrod lenght setup that they are using on their ETP heads. Please list any modifications that you had to make to the rockers or heads in this thread. I'm in the middle of an install right now and there isn't a whole lot of info out about what does and doesn't work correctly on these things. Below is what I'm dealing with and maybe we can have one thread with a bunch of good info in it.

I have a set of ETP 245's that I'm installing on the C5R based 427 that is being done for 2bseen. He has a set of non adjustable Jessel 1.7 rockers from his old engine that I was going to reuse. After trying to fit them and doing some reading this morning, I've found out that those won't work without some mods to the jessel rocker stand and then possibly having to make some shims for the rockers also. He bought a set of ETP's modified stock type rocker stands with the heads and I stuck those on there last night in an attempt to use the stock rockers on the engine. sticking two rockers on it to check the preload, the geometry look out pretty bad using 8.125 pushrods. I'm going to get a PR length checker and try it again tomorrow night and see what it looks like.

Is anyone using the ETP supplied stock rocker stand? If so, what length pushrods did you end up with? Did you have to do any shimming of that rocker stand?

I used the ETP rocker stand. The pushrod length ended up being 8.15 for the intake and 8.10 for the exhaust.

8.125's were too short on the 245cc ETP setup with stock rocker stands that I'm working on. I've been on another project the past two weeks and will update with the final length in the next week or so.

I ended up with 8.150's and we had to shim the stand up .20 for better rocker travel/geometry

Stock rockers and ET stand.

Just to update the thread I started. The final setup ended up being ETP 245's, ETP rocker stand for stock rockers, stock rockers rebuilt by Nasty Performance, .020 shim under the rocker stand, comp OE replacement lifters, and a 8.30 pushrod. The rest of the engine is Cometic .045 gaskets, C5R block with 4.125 bore, Callies Racemaster 4.0 crank, Callies rods, and Mahle pistons.

I came up with 8.040 for the intake and 8.090 for the exhaust. That's with .40 assumed preload and .043 gasket.

Although it looks like I might have to shim the stock rockers a bit the center the wipe.

Did you measure? or? As you can see it looks like every setup is a bit different.

Stock lifters can probably take the variance, but if you are running morels, com-r's, or the like.... the tolerance for preload error is much less.
