Any1 been having problems with Futral cams?

Default Any1 been having problems with Futral cams?
Ive been thinking about running one of Futrals cams, but i know in the past people were having some problems with the F13...Just wanting to know if the problem was solved, or if maybe it was just a bad batch of cams that got shipped out.

From what I remember I thought it was more of a bad batch thing and that Futral replaced the bad cams. Also I've heard there can sometimes be a bit of a wait to get the cam.

but Futrals cams perform with alot of area under the curve so worth the wait imo. I have no intentions of taking out my f13 to go bigger unless I try the f13 high lift.

New cams seem to be fine. I had one from the bad batch, but all the probs have since been remedied.

What was the problem w/ the bad batch of cams?? ground to the wrong specs?? I "heard" that the were chewing up the lifters?!?

In my opinion it was the surface of the lobes themselves. While the bearing journals were nice and smooth, the lobes had ridges, kind of like a very fine file. I feel that these ridges broke thorugh the case hardening of the lifter rollers.

Futral is a great company and replaced the cam with a newer core. The new one looked great before I sold it.

I run their F11. Good cam but damn, it took at least 6 weeks to get it.

I was originally going to get the f-13 but decided at the last minute to be a guinea pig for the high lift f-14 and I'm glad I did. I've seen some people complain about long waits but I had no problems. The car is very street friendly and made good power all over. Check sig for details.
