Default Is it a bad idea?

Is getting a cam installed without heads a bad idea? I dont see why it would be. Also if you dont get heads what are some good mods to have with the cam? Thanx

WELL #1an air lid..#2 long tubes.catback...if fairly bigger camshaft, ring and pinion and all others would help as well..ls1 heads flow a good amount of cfm stock to accomodate a high lift

basically do the bolt ons as stated above, i.e. headers, lid, catback.

You do not have to do the heads just yet, but they would complament the cam.

If you do cam only, make sure that the cam wont overlift the valve springs... change them when changing the cam...

You could try doing a little reading.

90% of the people on this board with internal engine mods are running cam only.

heres is what i would do...

get a LS6 or better intake..
80mm tb
LT's -cats are for people who worry bout emissions
Air lid
K&N filter
de screen the MAF and get a bigger MAF w/ smooth bellow
and if you are doing a cam...depending on miles
CHANGE YOUR LIFTERS , SPRINGS, locks and retainers...just a little insurance...
