cause I have a car (GN) that gets all my "real" money and dont intend to spend $400 on a cam and another $400 for a tune and the pushrods and springs etc etc when I can put a stock ZO6 cam in and get a lil more power out of it

Some say there is a difference above 4K with the LS6 cam. You may want to consider a Stealth or similar grind. Something mild, the engine PCM should be able to tune out, so you wont "need" a tune. Personally I would never do a cam swap without a tune, but to each their own.

LS2 cam doesn't have the reluctor ring on it for the cam position sensor. LS2's cam sensors are run off the cam gear.

Exactly....

You can't run an LS2 cam in an LS1/6. There is no cam timing pickup on the back. That's why they are selling for $50 or less in some cases. They are pretty much useless.

You can run an LS1/6 cam in an LS2 though.

Default It CAN be done

To say the LS-2 cam won't fit the LS-1 engine isn't exactly true. As someone mentioned the LS-1 style cam "reluctor ring" isn't on the LS-2 cams, but if you wanted to swap to an LS-2 timing chain and LS-2 timing cover & sensor, then you could run the LS-2 cam in the LS-1 block...

What are the differences in the grind specs for the LS2 vs the LS1?? I am interested in this as well, more from an FI point of view though.

that seems like ALOT of time and expense for extremely insignificant gains
