Default Timing Chain Set

I am wanting to upgrade my timing chain set. I plan on putting a Kenne Bell on my project 67 LS1, so I would like a descent one. What about the oil pump too, whats the good thing to do on that?

Thanks guys, I dont know crap about this stuff

Rick

no, you don't need to worry about that stuff. all you need to get is a rollmaster double roller and an ls6 ported and shimmed oil pump. they aren't expensive at all.

LS2 timing chain with 2 new sprockets $45 from GMpartsdirect.com
TSP ported LS6 pump $140 from texas-speed.com

several benifits for that combo. 1 cheap. 2 works. 3 lots of high rpm guys are using this stuff so its proven.

do a search for LS2 timing chain if you want to know why you should save tons of money over a double roller

You really don't need the retarded insurance a double row allows. I would do the LS2 chain. I have a double roller in both cars however. It is a pain in the *** you really don't want to mess with in most cases. Cam swap is a little more time consuming with it in some cases. You have to shim for it as well. Sometimes it doesnt clear the timing cover too. I think that is the one they use on the C5-R motor. If it is good enough for that race car then it is good enough for your blower setup most likely.
