Question ? about DCR the g5x3 and 11.0:1 compression

Will I maintain the ideal dcr with the g5x3 and my new heads shaved to 11.0:1 compression?

With 11.0:1 SCR, the G5X3 on a 114LSA will give you 8.29:1 DCR and the G5X3 on a 112LSA will give you 8.44:1 DCR.

To get DCR above 8.5:1, you'll need more SCR as I wouldn't advise advancing the cam any more than they already are (+4).

You didn't specify ICL, but here goes.

110LSA +2 = 8.44
110LSA +4 = 8.58
108LSA +0 = 8.44
108LSA +2 = 8.58
108LSA +4 = 8.73

there is no exact ideal. with 93 octane you can run well over 8.5.alot of people recomends 8.5-8.8 but 9.0 has been run on 93,myself included but that is with a great tune in mild weather also.if you have a very efficient combo with high velocity and a good cylinder fill some motors might be more limited than others.i had a 215 + runner with a 346 and could only muster 402 rwtq but say a certail 205 head may have 410 + at the same rpm so it might not be capable as much dcr since it is more efficient and has more cylinder fill .that is my asumption anyways,my car seems to be more sensitive at peak tq than peak hp.

I have less than ideal DCR (7.9 I think) with the TRex cam and my 11.0 SCR but the setup works for me and I'm getting about 260-270 psi on the compression check.
