It is a lpe GT 2 207/220 .573/.580 117.5
what do you think about this cam and which valvesprings should I use?
I am getting it for a real good price so I cannot pass it up.

I did not say I picked it because it was the exact cam I wanted but it is a great price.
So I will try it and see if I like it if not I will sale it and get another no big deal.
I just wanted to know what some of you thought it might do.

It is a very mild mannered cam, not sure how much of a gain you will see on stock heads. Although some have had decent gains with the milder lift Z-06 cam. Pretty good choice for a stealthy H/C combo. Give it a try and let us know what happens.

The GT-2 is a good cam for making decent power, while still keeping a pretty smooth idle. You will be fine running '02LS6 valvesprings, and shouldn't need any other changes. Call me at the shop if you have any questions.

the only reason why I would suggest going with something with more duration/lsa is because duration is whats going to be making the power with stock heads, not how much lift a cam has. So having a .590 cam with only a say, 210 duration and 117lsa isnt going to make as much power as say, a B1 cam which has 221/221 and 112 or 114 lsa, even tho it has almost .05 less lift than a Zo6 cam.

Thanks for the reply Ed.
I did not know the '02 Z06 springs would hold that
lift but if you say so I will use them.
Thanks.

That cam only has a few more degrees of intake duration than stock. A stock 98-00 cam is about 200 on the intake side. Also, IMO, thats wayyyy to much lift for stock LS1 heads and a duration that small. It wont be easy on the valvetrain either with lift like that. Need to tighten up the LSA also for more midrange grunt. Also, with Hooker LTs, you dont need 13 more degrees of exhaust duration over intake, since the exhaust flows so well. I'm just telling you all of this since I too went with too small of a cam originally and was disappointed. Hopefully it works out well for you.

The '02 ZO6 (LS6) cam does not have near that much lift. There is no way the LS6 springs can handle the lift of the LPE cam being discussed. I'd be scared to use 918's even.
