Yeah that's why I can't decide, good streetmanners less power, or MORE POWER slighty worse streetmanners.[/QUOTE]

that's the problem with me too...i drive my car every day which is why im leaning towards the ms3 instead of the ms4

Ive been told by Zack at TSP that the MS4 has better street manners than the MS3 because it has more power under the curve. The DCR is also higher with the MS4.

K found a local guy that has the MS3 rolled with him, was totally like he was driving a stock car till he hit the gas, the power was out on the low just a little but the top end just pulled like a rapped ape. So here is my deductive reasoning if the MS3=great street manners good power, the MS4= must be better because like the gentleman above said more power under the curve. Correcting the only (very small)complaint I had with the MS3.

yea but ms4 has some nasty .649 lift wont that kill springs much faster than a ms3 at .600 lift.
Anyone I talk to says thats too much lift for any kind of DD.

dam it.. why is it so hard to choose a cam..lol
im debating wether to get the v2, v3 or the ms3.... ive decided the ms4 is to big... and heard some bad stories already.. but dont make ur decision that.. just my .02 cents...
i heard a v2 yesterday and man o man.. it sounded bad ***... on a 98 m6 car.. with bolt ons, ls6 intake, and the v2 he made 410rwhp.. thats pretty dam good to me... also ive always been told.. bigger isnt always better

yes true for the ordinary DD i would actually go for a 224/228 .588 .588 but I'm not lookin for plain/ordinary I'm going to go big or go home. The motor will get heads and N20 soon, after the clutch and cam. I'm really going for 11's street trim. Plus I not lookin to buy a cam based on what it sounds like YOU CAN MAKE ANY CAM SOUND CHOPPY WITH THE CORRECT LSA.

Dont get a cam on based on how it sounds. I have no idea what the MS4 sounds like (Im sure its mean) and I have heard the MS3 and love it. However after speaking with Zack and doing A LOT of research i went with the MS4 and not because it was bigger. The cam is an overall improvement over the MS3. They are not that different from another. They are not like a Torquer cam vs. a TRex cam. If I dont like it I can always take it out and put a new one in. Sure I may loose a $100 or so but the experience and what I learn is priceless. You wont know how a cam will fit your driving habit untill you try it. Everyones opinion on streetability is soooooo different. Kind of like which exhaust is loud and which isnt. I have a small cam right now TR224 on 112. Totally like stock. I figured I try the other side of the spectrum. Plus after much research the MS4 seems like a good performing cam and not "just another big cam" As far as the massive lift on LSK lobes goes well just have to see. Back in the day when the beehive 918 came out people had the same worries. Today the 918s are run with more the the .600 max lift of the spring just fine. But im just rambling. I have the cam already install should happen next weekend or the weekend after and I will post results and personal feedback comparing the MS4 with the TR224.

I just got my MS3 in my TA and i like it alot. It may have lost a little low end torque but it pulls hard up top and is easy to daily drive. Even tho it may have lost a little down low, i cant stop spinning tires now

The V3 is a relatively new cam just like the MS4.
I had the Magic Stick 3. When he said MS4 or v3, I thought he meant version 3 of the Magic Stick (there were also other versions before that) My mistake

can you put the v3 in a higher milage car around 71k? I was wanting to buy the v3 with prc double springs and push rod set from tsp. Would it be ok to put that cam in this engine with higher miles? ALso what is involed in tuning a cam and should a local shop be able to do it? What do you tune it with?

Get the double springs ,pushrods , camshaft , lifters , timingchain , oilpump uprade and your car will run like new

ALso what is involed in tuning a cam and should a local shop be able to do it?
Any Ls1Tech sponsored High Performance shop should be able to tune your car regardless of modifications .

I would save a little more and buy the oil pump and lifters . The cam your talkin will rev higher than stock so its good to upgrade to fresh parts . Old lifter can go out and cost you alot, same for the old oil pump .
