So I need lifters as well? The car Only has 35k on the motor. I will most likely shift at 6700rpm. Now it's an 01 m6 am I going to need a new oil pump? I was under the impression that 01's and 02's had an upgraded oil pump...

Maybe someone from TSP could chim in I know Brian Just put the V3 in his setup.

scoggin dickey sells GM lifters for around $100 , the Ls2 timing chain by itself will work for those installing dot to dot .

my opinion dont do the lifters till you do heads... plus you dont have that many miles on the car, also i kno plenty of people that did big cam installs without changing the lifters... but if u got the money to blow on lifters and install get the good ones... but it aint gunna be cheap, and ur gunna end up spending double when u get some good heads..... no this is just my opinion... u dont have to go by wat i say... i do recomend changing the chain and oil pump... its all like nitrous... you buy the safety stuff to help other things from breaking.... it may cost alil more.. but in the long run is better and will save you money!

o and for a timing chain an ls2 chain will be sufficient, and you can find some ported ls6 oil pumps for good prices aswell...
good luck!

whats the problem pulling the heads to do the job right the first time. so what if you have to pull them again when or if you ever get better heads as they are freaking out on the price of a set of lifters . if you cant afford the gaskets twice find another hobby . Not everyone will get new heads . You should degree any cam you install also so have money for that . Sorry to sound like a old man '' Get off my lawn'' but thats the proper way .

I was in the same boat as you a while ago. Torquer v2, v3, ms3, and ms54. I decided a few hp didnt make a difference to me. It's a street car anyways. I might do another power adder later on so im not hurting for hp here. I figured I also didnt want to rev as high either. The torquer would be a lot more fun to drive as well on the street. So I decided to go with that and im gonna be ordering it this week.

based on my research....i feel that the double valve springs from tsp are a better investment than the 918's.....not that there bad or anything....but they tend to last longer....of course it also depends on your driving habits... i suggest you get dual valve springs, ls6 ported oil pump, ls2 timing chain and of course all the necessary gaskits.....

I also am looking to upgrade, but I am not excited about having to flycut my pistons, since I have PRC stg2. ported heads

The MS4 is not a pain to drive daily. If its tuned right, I have an M6 with 3.42's. (Havent got the 4.10's in yet, they are in the garage). Its no problem

Not if you have a good tune and a properly sized stall converter. As for what is the proper sized stall converter...I have no idea, I'm an M6 guy, but 3800+ is my best guess. Also "to much" is a very relative term, only you can decided what is enough.

Im in the same boat right now for lifters. I only have 20K on the car but the heads are going to be off already. I was going to go with the GM High Rev lifters that SDPC sells. Dont know if its worth it with such little mileage since money is tight.

The stock lifters are already good ones. They are very light weight from what ive heard. Be careful changing the ratio as it will mess with the lift and all.

The ones that I mentioned are direct replacements for the stockers.

^^^ I kind of have the same issue. I did a few calculations and started a thread regarding it and it looks like 7.425 or even 7.450 will work great. However I have LS5 heads and the vavles on those are longer than an LS1 head so I can get away with 7.400 for now (since I have them already).
