Default MS3 in stock A4?

Would an MS3 or Torquer v.2 be overkill in my car? i just want the most STREETABLE performance on stock heads. cant seem to decide on a cam but i think i narrowed it down to these two. help would be much appreciated

with an ms3 youll have to go bigger than a 3200 stall to really get into the powerband. my car is still very streetable with my mods.

exactly, the ms3 doesnt really even get into power at all until about 3500 rpms. but if you want to get all you can out of this cam, id go with a 4000 or go with a 3600 and get some n20 help to you out in the lower rpm's. My car falls on its face with just lid and LM catback from dig, imagine it with a big cam that makes most of its power in the upper rpm range. Theres a big thread around here that will explain in detail what i mean but the search screwed the pooch tonight and i cant get it to work. search ms3 in the internal section or the automatic tranny section. itll pop up.

Exactly! It is againt ls1tech law to put a cam in A4 with a stock converter!

With that being said get an idea of they type of cam you want and its power range and select your stall speed based on that. No sense in getting a 3000 stall when you cam makes it power in 4500 range, and no sense getting a 4400 stall if you cam is a low/midrange power maker.

STREETABLE is defined by personal taste and more so the tuner ability to manipulate the PCM. Not the cam specs.

Id get around 3600stall, 3.73s and then a big cam.
I had a 221/221 on a stock converter, and they hated one another.
I couldnt imagine a MS3 with a stock converter.

By the way I have an MS3..I love it, but I need gears.

do you have 2.73's? and how does the 3600 stall do with the ms3? i really dont want to get a 4000, i plan on getting a 3600 and using some nitrous to get it into power band. i have 3.23's.

I have 3.23s not really enough. But they work. My 3500 works decent with it, but I talked with somebody that had a 3600 Yank something that did well with the ms3. Im sure any brand would do well.. Cant remember what the specs were on the converter. I would say nothing less than a 3500 stall.

I think I'm the only one to have read this part.

The V2 will be more streetable, and will enable you to run a smaller stall which will also make it more streetable compared to a huge stall.

Looking for some of the most streetable converters, then look at VIG.
VIG 3600 for either cam.
My other choice would be SS4000 Yank.

I just put an MS3 cam on my car with a yank SS 3600 stall converter and it runs great. The only problem i'm having is that my car seems to smoke quiet a bit only when idling. I heard deleting the pcv will help that. I have not tried that yet until i get more info.
