Default LS7 cam in an LS1/6?

I have an LS7 cam I just took out and I am wondering if I can stick it in an LS1/6? I know a few people with these engines a little more cam never hurt anyone! Using the LS7 springs and retainers may an issue?

I was looking at one the other day and noticed that it did not have provisions for the cam sensor.

I can take a photo - it has a cam sensor looking item before the last cam journal at the back. Looks like a 1/1 type. The LS7 has one on the timing gear picked up by a sensor in the cover.

We're talking 427 cubic inches. That helps to 'soak up' the cam. The 02+ ls6 cam which is 'big' for a factory cam would be comparable with it's 346 inches.
The 120 lsa helps to increase the upper mid to high end range of the big 427, gotta remember with 427 inches it's already got displacement on it's side

A high lsa is gonna help the low end. Larger separation angle allows you to fill the cylinders better at low rpm.

i disagree...1/4 drag racers opt for 112 lsa or lower for maximum low end grunt. lower lsa numbers moves the power band lower.

That doesn't mean a higher LSA won't fill the cylinders better at lower rpm. LSA is basically overlap, the smaller it is, the longer the intake and exhaust valves are both open. At lower rpm's this blows air through the cylinder making it harder to fill, however this helps at higher rpm's by helping to pull the exhaust gas out while pushing clean air in.
