Default Working out some cam ideas for the Z06...

I know, I know, "don't put a cam in the Z06..."

BAH!

That decision is past, now it's what cam to go with. Along with which cam, is my question of the necessity and/or wisdom in getting the PCM done as well.

I had the Thunder 224/.561 112 cam in my 10th Hawk, and liked it. I never got the chance to get the PCM done, and it still made good power.

I'm talking to LG about having one of their cams, not certain yet on which one.

I'm also looking at the same Thunder cam that was in the Hawk.

The Z comes with a 66xx rev limiter from the factory, is a computer tune going to be necessary, smart? What ideas of thoughts might be had about putting a cam into the Z06 (aside from the usual crowd who may yell at me for opening the motor at all...)

The goal is 400+ rwhp, with the additional items being only a cam, crank pulley, and possibly the tuning.

Thanks for any ideas, or input...especially about the computer tuning issue...

What exactly are your current mods and what do you currently dyno? Is this a 2001 or 2002 Z06?

You should give FLP a call they are doing good work with corvette headers...

A cam in my opinion is one of the things I would do with a z06 if I had one...its aleady got the heads for it...why not give it a bigger cam...it will flow fine through the LS6 heads and you should make close to 400rwhp..

I've talked with Dan quite a bit about the headers, unfortunately they aren't looking to have them out till after the first of the year, perhaps February. LG is also doing great things with the headers. I'd say 410 or so could be had with a cam...*crosses fingers*

Now about that computer tuning....

I don't think tuning would be that big of a problem....
