From what I've read, the Grotts fit alot better and it is an easier install. The grotts however come with a $hitty y-pipe. Get a custom one made. They make close to the same power from what I've read. If you look at a lot of the big power cars, I've seen alot of them running grots. Coincidence? I don't have a clue. Grots have ZERO customer support. Buy them through a sponser, ie. Thunder Racing. The FLPs have the ability to go from ORP to cats in 10 minutes. If thats something you want or ever think you'll use, go for it.
Basically I think it comes down to this. After you get the y-pipe for the grots made it is cheaper by ohh, a hundred bucks if you get an off road pipe made. With cats you're looking at 200 more. Is there a reason why the headers cost 200 more? Agian, I don't know. Buy the grotts if you don't mind getting something custom made and can deal with no customer service. Get the FLPs if you're going to swap cats, and think you might need customer service. If you are installing them yourself and want an easy install, get the Grots.

I think the FLP's are the best LT headers around...they will pay off in the end if you plan on any Head/Cam deals or Poweradders...they flow great, and pay off when your motor needs it...

the customer service sucks for the grots for sure. The install was EASY to do though. it only took me about 3 hours to put them in and it was my first time to do a header install (on and LS1 car)
I think Tony Whatley installed his FLP's in about 3 hours as well though. I personally think the Grots look better and they seem to have longer primaries than the FLP's do.
I ordered my Grots and paid 775 shipped to my door. Once I put them on I had my exhaust shop modify the factory y-pipe so that it would match up to the headers. The shop only charged me 30 bucks to modify my y-pipe.
