Default LS1 Edit, where do you read about it and where can you find it?

I cant find anything on the net about it?

Just want to know where you would buy it when it comes out.

Im assuming its acts as a stand alone computer in a way. You could hook a laptop up to it and program stuff I assume?

Some one correct me if im wrong.

The LS1 edit is a programming tool to reprogram the PCM in your car. Jayson at MTI did some programming on my car with it. It reminds me of the DFI setup in that you can reprogram any part of the PCM including fuel and spark curves.

Here's some more info on the workings of the editor, as well as some other good info; BUT it is just about the editor in general, and doesn't talk about LS1-edit specifically. I think they've been so busy trying to get all of the different versions moving along (99-00, 97-98, 01-02), that they haven't had alot of time to hype it up on the net. Most of the info you read that refers to LT1-edit will apply to LS1-edit also, I think. I don't speak for them, but I've used both and they are very similar.

Wow, I was looking foward to this coming out. Now, it sounds scary to use. You can destroy your PCM if you cpu loses power while programming? I may just stay away from it.

your making out out like it's the end of the world if your PCM gets zapped..

It's not brain surgery... luckily in this case you can buy another computer...

That program seems like it's going to be way sweet..

Computer zappage is actually quite rare with the newer PCMs, and they're actually easier to recover than the earlier (flash based LT1) PCMs. I know this, I recover LT1 PCMs.

There's no info on LS1_Edit on the web site yet, but there will be similar functionality as compared to LT1_Edit. Also, the screen shots on the web are VERY old, that page was put together in December '99, the software has improved and matured a lot since then.

And I don't know any dates for release either, nor do I have a copy of the software.

I just got this e-mail tonite. I can't wait!

Hi,
The pcm-locked version of LS1-edit will be released in 1-2
months (probably late January right now) and will cost the same
as our 96/97 LT1 programmer ($550).

Thanks,
Dave @ carputing.com

Well, my car is my daily driver and I live alone, so I'm kinda screwed if my car goes down. Hey, is Valvegod a member here? Doesn't he sell pcm's for $100 some odd? That might be the solution for me, to have a spare.
