Default Between these two cams...???

224/224, .581"/.581"
228/228, .588"/.588"

Ok I know that the 224 is a great street cam...but I was kinda wanting to go a bit bigger...like the 228. It's my DD and has 35k on the clock. It's an '01 and it has longtubes, ORY cut out. Ported stock TB free ram air etc. I plan on doing an underdrive pulley before a cam. I have a yank 3500 to put in it...with a transgo and supercooler...

I'm leaning towards the 228, but my question is this...

If I choose the 228, what lobe seperation should I go with? It's an A4 and I have read plenty of times to go with a 114...I just want some input on these cams and which LSA I should go with. And if anybody could help explain the advance and retard on a cam. I read it in the cam guide but I'm still confused on the differences and what it does with hp at certain rpms...

Do you have emissions testing? If so 224 on a 114. If not 228 on a 112.

228/228 114 and 224/224 112 have the same overlap. I'd do the 228/228 and use a 112.

what not look at a 224/228 .581/.588 on a 110+2 LSA or if you want a touch bigger go with a 226/230 or 228/232 both with 110+2 LSA The 2 degrees advance will get ur peak HP sooner in the RPM range. correct me if im wrong guys.

Well I was really considering the 224 but then wanted to go with a 228...because I hear the 228 is still a good mild cam for street...i don't wanna go any higher than that. I'm just not sure what LSA or advance and retard i should go with...it is an A4 with a 3500 stall, and people say 114 are good for A4's. So I was just thinking of a 114 LSA with no advance. But I don't know much about advance and retard, so I don't know if I should consider it.
